Roanoke County Public Schools is currently seeking an Administrative Analyst for the Special Education Department with an immediate opening. This position is a 260 day contract, 8 hrs./day, eligible for benefits on the Roanoke County Public Schools Pay Plan Grade 113. Position Description/Job Summary : This Administrative Analyst for Special Education supports special education central office and itinerant staff (i.e., supervisors, psychologists, autism department, related services, 504 facilitators, homebound/homebased facilitators, parent resource center). Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks - GENERALLY :
• Maintains Assistive Technology database and distribution (including specially requested laptops, iPads, and student specific technology) throughout the year.
• Completes annual homebound report for the VDOE.
• Assists with home schooling, foster care report and drop out report.
• Provides administrative support to Special Education Supervisors
• Handles surrogate parent applications and secures surrogate parent when a school requested.
• Maintains homebound/homebased records and timesheets for the division.
• Processes itinerant staff mileage reimbursement for the division.
• Distributes assessments for itinerant and related service staff.
• Provides basic IT support to special education staff.
• Orders materials and resources submitted by all schools and special education staff.
• Reconciles departmental credit cards, monthly.
• Purchases materials, resources, and technology, upon request to support students and staff. Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications :
Has strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills; excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel). Strong work ethic, highly motivated with solid organizational skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, the public and associates; ability to work under pressure. Very dependable; able to always work independently; ability to multi-task and/or continue a long/complicated task seamlessly through multiple interruptions; and the ability to coordinate the receipting and disbursing of funds in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures. Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and office assistance techniques. Education and Experience :
High School Diploma and college level courses in office management, secretarial science, or related field. Good working knowledge of Excel and MS Office Suite.
