Accounting Specialist

Job Description: Long Shadows Vintners is seeking to add an Accounting Specialist to our Finance team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the operational efficiency of our financial processes and will specialize in accounts payable and receivable. A successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and the Administrative Manager to develop and execute effective procedures related to the winery finances and operations.
Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Manage all Accounts Payable processes, including receiving, collecting and entering invoices, processing payments in QuickBooks and bill.com, and reconciling statements.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable functions, including receiving payments, monitoring aging reports, and resolving payment issues.
- Assist with month-end close activities, wine costing, and bank reconciliation.
- Assist with year-end close activities, reviews, and audits.
- Process tax payments, annual 1099s, and W-9 requests as needed.
- Ad hoc reporting and projects
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including restaurant inventory and costing
- Conduct monthly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Add merchandise to POS (Orderport) and ensure accurate costing.
Distributor Sales Support:
- Prepare and send monthly sales reports to the sales team.
- Upload distributor orders to Shipcompliant and file new item forms.
- Assist with managing wholesale invoices and communication with distributors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the beverage or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
