Accounting Assistant

Company is looking for a knowledgeable Accounting Assistant for Payroll, Accounts Payable and General bookkeeping. Must be able to use accounting software with accuracy and efficiency. Detailed and trusted with sensitive payroll & accounting information. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices. Proficient in MS Products and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. QuickBooks)
Responsibilities: Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records (regular hours & overtime, days off & vacation tracking) Perform duties associated with weekly processing of payroll for salary and hourly employees Maintenance of multiple databases with employee information Process A/P, reconcile invoices for payment to vendors and suppliers Admin fleet maintenance tracking software system Clerical and administrative functions within the accounting department Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience: Demonstrated Payroll Experience (2+ years) Able to use Microsoft Office Suite as well as various technology and web-based software Experience with Excel at better than average skill range (required) Experience with QuickBooks (preferred) Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction - with excellent organization, accuracy, and follow-up skills Time Management; able to effectively work on multiple tasks at a given time and maintain high performance on each job
