Accounting Assistant

HCI is a leading multi-unit management company based in Manhattan, Kansas. HCI's largest brand is Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers franchises with 40+ locations throughout the Midwest, Texas, and East Coast. HCI manages three locally owned and operated restaurants in Manhattan and Junction City and offers full-service catering to the central Kansas area. In 2021 HCI added Booth Creek Wagyu, Meatworks of Kansas processing plant in Riley, KS, and Booth Creek Wagyu Retail store in Manhattan. The newest additions were developed in 2023, adding two retail stores, one in Overland Park and Wichita, KS.
Job Description The Accounting Assistant is responsible for organizing accounting and financial data and collaborating with financial managers and other team members to successfully execute various tasks necessary in the accumulation of financial data.
Duties/Responsibilities: Routine bookkeeping Posting daily sales summaries Reconciling bank accounts Processing paperwork Organizing and filing documents Scanning documents Logging information in databases Updating and maintaining ledgers Processing invoices Other tasks as assigned Qualifications Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Motivated by repetitive tasks. Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.  Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.  Proficient with Microsoft, basic Outlook and Excel capabilities, preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
