A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR The person in this role will be passionate about education and will possess a personable demeanor. The University Engagement Coordinator is responsible for a multi-generational approach in supporting Detroit Promise university students. In partnership with other education and talent staff, you will work together to reach the goal of increasing semester-to-semester persistence, credit accumulation and graduation rates among the Detroit Promis students. The role will primarily be in the field, traveling to colleges. You will interact with and provide exceptional customer service to diverse audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR Associate degree or higher, minimum of one year of experience in advising students in communities that serve large numbers of first-generation collegegoers. (Experience in lieu of education will also be considered.) Experience with successful college access programs would be extremely beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - advanced knowledge and skill level in Excel and PowerPoint preferred. A valid driver's license is required in addition to access to reliable transportation. Availability for nights, evenings, and weekend programming is required. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR This position is full-time and typically works Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM . The person in this role may need to travel throughout Southeastern Michigan. There are also opportunities to work from home.
