The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Warehouse Supervisor - (Laboratory) with in the Division of Health Protection, Public Health Laboratory located in Decatur, GA.
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises the operations of a warehouse. Receives, stores and issues materials, equipment and other items. Performs manual and clerical tasks involved in the distribution of supplies and materials.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervises and plans work of assigned staff
Coordinates the receipt and count of items, and records data manually or using a computer
Coordinates the shipping and packing of all goods
Coordinates with purchasing and other unit managers to optimize processes
Delivers and transports supplies
Determines proper storage methods, identification, and location based on turnover, environment factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
Issues supplies or merchandise and maintain vendor files
Maintains a listing of available surplus property available
Marks items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
Orders supplies to maintain stock
Packs and unpacks items to be stocked in stockrooms and warehouses
Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas
Inventory Management which includes reconciliation, control, maintaining electronic databases and physical counts of stock
Assists the Facilities department with the tracking and placement of equipment
Ensures compliance to health and safety regulations
Fostering a professional work environment
Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college AND Two years of experience in shipping and receiving, One year of which in a lead/supervisory role OR High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience in shipping and receiving, One year of which in a lead/supervisory role OR One year of experience at the lower level Supply/Warehouse Clerk 3 (FES012) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions require possession of valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications - External:Preferred Qualifications:
1 year supervisory experience.
2 years warehouse experience with inventory control.
This position requires all candidates to have drivers license.
