Job Description The Fab Operations team at Western Digital is at the heart of the technology and Fab supply management.
We help enable the introduction and ramp of new technologies in our world class manufacturing facilities in Japan. The team serves the critical and highly visible function of driving alignment between the technology and the supply chain functions. As an Operations Research Intern, you will be responsible for responsible to design, develop, and apply mathematical, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to Fab Capacity Planning problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Mathematical Modeling: Build, develop, validate, and apply mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization and simulation models and tools Financial Metrics: Enhance existing model capability to track advanced financial metrics. Pursue enhancements to include financial optimization to capacity planning. Data Analytics: Build and maintain dashboards in analytics platforms (PowerBI, Tableau) Qualifications Eligibility: Pursuing M.S. /Ph.D in Industrial Engineering, Operations research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Engineering with a graduation date. Compensation & Benefits Details An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications ; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs. The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
