MDW is currently seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering in Arlington, VA. The analyst will provide full-time support to the Director of the Technology Industrial Innovation Base (TIIB) as a support contractor for ManTech Program Support Services (MPSS) . The successful candidate will be capable of provid ing senior-level communications support and leadership to the Contractor communications team s .
The Strategic Communications Specialist will perform the following job functions :
Assi st the Strategic Communication lead in all communications tasks as assigned in support of ManTech program communications and marketing requirements. The Contractor shall: Report on social and traditional media landscape, key themes and audiences, sentiment, media outlets, and other key factors relating to or supporting the ManTech mission. Develop compelling content tailored to the proper audiences and distribute via multiple channels, including the ManTech website, to address program objectives . Conduct research and recommend outreach and engagement opportunities (e.g., conference, webinar , and podcast). Aid in the development and production of outreach materials, including but not limited to brochures, conference booth displays, and videos. Prepare, edit, and staff press releases, news articles, social media posts, videos, webinars, newsletters, presentations and talking points for leadership and other content as required . Compose, submit for ManTech Director approval, and transmit on behalf of ManTech a periodic DoD Manufacturing Technology Program newsletter. Monitor media coverage of ManTech and related activities, collect and compile news data, and produce media analysis reports with charts, graphs, key takeaways, and recommendations using open-source tools. Support the Strategic Communication Lead in the execution of the marketing strategy. Require d Experience :
Ability to research, analyze, assess, interpret, and report research results. Capable of working independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong com mitment to deliverable schedules to meet tight deadlines. Basic understanding of OSD Public Affairs operations (e.g., press releases, event coverage) and requirements for customer interactions with OSD Public Affairs, including processes for public release of information. Experience in providing social media s upport to an organization . Understands DoD organization use, and limitations on use, of social media. Proficient verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation. Education Requirement/Required Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in a communications-related field from an accredited college or university is required with three (3) years of relevant experience.
