Job Purpose
Develop, create, and coordinate regional internal communications content for MCG (Mitsubishi Chemical Group) Americas in alignment with business goals and corporate communication standards. Work closely with regional and divisional senior management and other stakeholders to develop specialized internal communications and employee engagement content as needed. Develop engaging internal communications content that features clear narratives and tactics tailored to the organization's business needs.
Principal Accountabilities
Strategic Communication Development: + Under the guidance of the Manager, Internal Communications, devise strategies and craft content for internal communication channels. These include but are not limited to SharePoint intranet, quarterly regional newsletters, and digital message boards, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
+ Establish and manage a dynamic content calendar to maintain the timeliness and relevance of communications. Work with key organizational stakeholders to ensure internal communication is clear, timely, consistent, and aligned with company's goals and values.
Intranet and Content Management: + Oversee administrative and content management of the company's SharePoint intranet site. Responsibilities encompass implementing updates, creating content aligned with company goals, creating, and generating monthly analytics reports to inform content development strategies.
+ Regularly evaluate effectiveness and refine communication content and channels through feedback and analytics, suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance engagement and information dissemination. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
Internal Events and Initiatives: + Assist in organizing and coordinating both on-site and virtual internal events and initiatives, requiring occasional travel (approximately 5-10 times per year dependent on business needs).
Stakeholder Collaboration: + Work with executive leadership, regional leadership, and divisional business leaders as requested to ensure communication is clear, consistent, and strategically aligned. This involves identifying communication needs and providing tactical support with systems, content, and materials.
+ Partner with communication leads across locations or divisions to guarantee the timely distribution of information and materials.
Communication Effectiveness and Innovation: + Foster employee engagement through innovative communication approaches, identifying and leveraging modern technologies or methodologies where applicable.
+ Conduct continuous feedback and data analysis to assess the impact of internal communications, driving strategic improvements to enhance effectiveness.
+ Develop and deliver high-quality communication materials across various media (e.g., spoken, written, web, internal digital message boards), ensuring they are well-written, edited, and tailored to the audience. Content materials include but are not limited to talking points, internal news articles, employee announcements, and other communications as assigned or needed.
Travel Requirements: + This role requires domestic overnight business travel 5 time to 10 times per year dependent on business needs. #LI-BT1 #LI-remote
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Educational and Professional Experience Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a relevant field is required.
+ 3+ years of experience as a communications specialist or similar role is required.
+ 3+ years of demonstrated experience with project management, including working with stakeholders, providing guidance, and the clear and consistent delivery of internal communication content for a global organization.
+ 1+ years of demonstrated experience with design, development, and content creation of company newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations focused on increasing employee engagement and readership for a diverse audience.
+ 1+ years of experience designing SharePoint intranet sites.
+ 1+ years of experience using InDesign layouts using a template (intermediate level of experience) required.
+ Experience in the chemical industry, though candidates from scientific, technical, or medical industries are also considered suitable is highly preferred.
+ Technical Proficiency: + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) is required.
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro and Photoshop) is preferred.
+ Experience with Asana or other project management software is preferred.
+ Expertise in digital communication tools and platforms beyond SharePoint, such as social intranet software and employee engagement apps, to broaden the scope of internal communication channels.
+ Strong analytical skills to effectively utilize data analytics tools for insight-driven content creation and strategy adjustment.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
+ The salary range for this position is $59,400 – $74,200. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
