Service Contract Associate – Customer Contract Administration This position is responsible for responding to customer requests for connections to utility systems, calculating and collecting applicable fees, approving service contracts, and issuing permits (development charges, recovery agreement charges, taps, various permits, and utility service extensions). Your strong knowledge of building codes and regulations coupled with your excellent customer service skills will be valued as you will interact frequently and build relationships with internal and external customers from various building and construction enterprises related to requests for utility services and permits. You will ultimately serve as a liaison between customers and Colorado Springs Utilities' operating departments on development issues related to standard line extension specifications to ensure understanding and compliance.
Please note that possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required for this position.
How Will You Make an Impact? Preparing estimates for residential and commercial water and wastewater development charges
Responding to customer requests for new or additional connections to utility supply systems
Communicating tariffs, rates, city codes, and standards relative to utility connections
Preparing invoices for applicable fees (water taps, temporary water use, permits, inspections, electric and gas design, and temporary electric)
Providing daily support to customer inquiries (in-person, over the phone, and electronically)
Analyzing utility plans and meter sizing specifications to assess development charges and fees
Maintaining functional knowledge of water and wastewater recovery contracts
Conducting contract reviews and validation as requested by contract holders
Administering line extension and refund contracts
Preparing service-level agreements for temporary water use
Who You Are Relevant and progressively responsible experience in a customer-focused environment; ability to work well with internal and external customers
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field is valued
Knowledge of and experience with Utility services is valued
Skill in ArcGIS Desktop is valued
Skill in MS Office, Document Management Systems, Microsoft SharePoint
