The Sr Software Engineer will manage a delivery partner in the short-term and in the longer-term, will build a product engineering team that will continue to elaborate the tools and products supporting RideKleen’s mobile services line of business. Reporting directly to RideKleen’s COO, the Sr Software Engineer will have end-to-end responsibility for understanding the customer needs, designing optimal solutions, and building and operating the technology platforms needed to meet growth targets.Technical: strong foundational knowledge of software engineering and experience driving product engineering efforts using modern cloud-native architectures in AWS using Java and JavaScript.
Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between the business need and the engineering products.
Teamwork: capable of working in and out of organizational boundaries in a collaborative way and positively through situations of healthy conflict when they occur.
Ownership: own the end-to-end engineering process, and ensure the software is being built in the right way, constantly seeking to improve their craft.
Innovation: embody and promote a culture of innovation, always looking for new ways to do things, thinking outside of the box, thinking about problems from a business perspective as well as from a technology perspective.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead engineering efforts by providing technical direction. Provide professional development and mentorship to managers and team members.
Establish software engineering standards and guidelines.
Champion communications on technology and strategic initiatives
Establish a fun, creative and enjoyable work environment balanced with commitment to excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Present issues and risks, and the business impact to management along with a mitigation plan. Actively seek and remove impediments to success.
Monitor and manage budget for software engineering.
Monitor and manage 3rd party delivery providers, including contract engineering teams.
Continuously improves software development productivity, quality, and predictability.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, a related field, or equivalent work experience in related field
Minimum 7 years Software Engineering and IT project management experience
4+ years of technology and software engineering experience with a focus on building software products for internal or external customers
Exposure to PHP/Laravel, Node.Js/Express and databases MySQL.
Exposure to HTML/CSS/ React.js
Exposure to Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android)
Exposure to 3rd party services such as Realm DB cloud and AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc)
1 + years of management experience
Background and experience in Automotive a plus
Team player with excellent work habits and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience implementing and maturing Agile delivery practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects to meet or exceed goals and objectives
Experience managing external consultants and vendors as project resources
Ability to identify and manage delivery risks, including the development of contingency and mitigation plans
Experience in leading cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, product owners, analytics, and production engineering resources
Travel varies, but will be approximately 10%
