Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting directly to the Dir, Surgical Services, ASC, indirectly to the Corporate Director of Professional Nursing Practice, this position will provide leadership and coordination for Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) clinical practice across all care settings at Emory Healthcare.
The leader will oversee the daily operations of the PGP WOC clinics, WOCN staff, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the ambulatory areas to analyze financial and labor statistics to determine cost, productivity and efficiency of the clinical services so that resources are effectively managed.
Establish a continuum of care for patients who require wound care by establishing connection across acute and ambulatory care, establishing workflows for patient transition, and developing standard wound care practices to include in person care and telehealth.
Responsible for managing the clinical aspects of the WOC clinic(s). Accountable for operational activities related to enhancing office efficiencies, patient satisfaction, and cost-effective outcomes for clinical services.
Supervises departmental clinical staff, APPs and other office staff, and handles human resources related issues.
Establishes, administers and monitors departmental quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Facilitates communication services between external clients, physicians and hospital departments.
Implements, monitors, and evaluates a standard PGP clinical support work process system that promotes collaborative clinical practice and ensures professional standards of nursing practice.
All duties and patient interaction performed in accordance with EHC patient and family centered care standards.
Plans, administers and monitors the operations and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date expenditures; and implements corrective action as necessary.
Leadership functions are focused at the system level to ensure coordination and standardization in practice.
Using a collaborative approach with both WOC nurses and physicians, a decrease in variation in practice using evidence-based practice will be realized.
The Sr. Clinical Manager will develop an understanding of the unique patient needs at each site across PGP and EHC to specifically improve the knowledge and awareness of WOC needs/care.
This is inclusive of existing wound care relationships with outsourced services and providers.
Provides leadership for team development of WOCNs through CWOC meetings, product evaluation and usage, evidence-based clinical practice, clinical outcome performance, policies/procedures/protocols, patient experience, and design of systems that reflect realignment based on practice changes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in nursing. Master's degree in nursing, business administration, health care administration or related field preferred.
Must have 5 years of clinical nursing experience or experience as an Advanced Practice Provider with 2 years supervisory/manager experience.
Previous enterostomal therapy experience and CHRN certification preferred, but not required.
Must have a valid, active unencumbered RN license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
If candidate is an Advanced Practice Provider, must be currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.
