You've probably used our software when ordering a burger, paying for parking or booking a train ticket - without realizing it! Keeping these payment systems running smoothly is a mission-critical task. We are looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Sr. Linux System Administrator to contribute to the development of our back-end payments products. This position is expected to interface with management and lead the implementation of our back-office systems. Additionally, the engineer is expected to provide cross-disciplinary technical leadership to infrastructure teams and directly contribute to scaling next generation payment systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
•Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
•Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Develop custom tools, automate processes, and implement monitoring.
• Develop automated provisioning, and self-healing automation.
• Perform incident resolution and root cause analysis of outages and implement solutions to systematic failures.
• Interest in helping transform systems and processes to handle sustained growth
• Automate server builds using configuration management, operating system migration, and integration of monitoring tools and metrics
• Operate and maintain production and development systems in a Linux/Unix environment
• Assist existing systems team with monitoring and managing system resources, system logs, back-up and recovery, continuity of operations, security, patching software, and storage management
• Participate in the system team’s on-call rotation for production outages
• Troubleshoot operations and database issues for internal and external customers.
• Deploy application updates, manage infrastructure, and ensure system and network security.
•Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems by ensuring they are in the current release and patch levels for CentOS and other system software installed on the servers.
•Sets up administrator and service accounts.
•Maintains system documentation
•Develops and implements testing strategies and documents results.
•Provides advice and training to end-users.
•Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
•Programs in an administrative/scripting languages.
•Participates in special projects as required.
