What we are looking for We are seeking a Project- to Project Management-Level Geologist for our Nashville, Tennessee office that wants to grow and is passionate about environmental consulting and making a positive impact on the environment. You will work on a wide variety of projects. You will conduct assignments in a hybrid office setting and in the field.
How you can make an impact Record data during field work, which could include, but is not limited to: soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater and surface water data, photographs, and summaries of visual observations through photographic and written field logs, in accordance with standard operating procedures. Prepare environmental assessment/ monitoring reports, including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches, and figures. Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including: soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas. Oversee drilling activities involving monitoring well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sample collection. Perform and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents. Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, permit applications, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission. Coordinate with clients, regulators, contractors, and subcontractors. Prepare reports such as Phase I/Phase II environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring reports, hydrogeologic characterization reports, and compliance reporting. Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation. Assist in training/mentoring junior staff. Assist with business development activities that include meeting with clients and potential clients, preparing proposals, attending conferences, etc. Prepare site specific health and safety plans and participate in health and safety training. Position expected to consist of 70-80 percent office time and 20-30 percent field work. Up to 10 percent travel expected. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Geology required. 10 or more years of relevant experience required. Experience in the solid waste industry, environmental permitting, manufacturing/industrial, environmental regulations, assessment/remediation, and environmental compliance preferred. P.G. registration required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs (AutoCAD or ArcGIS) required, field equipment experience required. Detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.
