Senior Cost Accountant

We are a leading manufacturing company serving clients in the defense space. 
Position Overview : The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for coordinating monthly cost accounting activities and supporting inventory functions within the company.
Key Responsibilities :
Track standard cost of products and update costs as required Analyze and reconcile work in process and purchase price variances Investigate manufacturing variances Assist with GL period close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements Calculates inventory reserves Administer the physical inventory and cycle count programs Support internal, external, and customer audits; perform duties adhering to SOX controls Actively seek continuous improvement to be implemented within owned processes Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Experience performing cost accounting functions Knowledge of regulatory requirements including GAAP, FASB, etc. Proficient in MS Office; strong Excel skills required Proficient in use of an ERP computer software package; Oracle experience strongly preferred Experience with government cost accounting is a plus Benefits Competitive Base Salary: $60k - $100k DOE Medical  Dental Vision 401k PTO/Vacation Paid Holidays Paid Parental Leave Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
