Esperanza Therapeutic Day School is part of a non-profit organization that provides individualized instruction for students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Developmental Delays utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and evidence-based teaching practices.
These approaches are used to develop academic, social, vocational, and life skills that help improve the students' quality of life and help them reach their fullest potential as active members of their community.

Currently we have approximately 67 students in 7 classrooms with: 1 special education teacher, 1 behavior technician, and approximately 3-4 paraprofessionals in each classroom.

The School Behavior Specialist is responsible for the overall development, coordination, and agency-wide behavior initiatives.
This position will ensure that the behavior department is operating within the parameters of federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

No billing requirements for BCBA or BCaBA's.

Administrative Tasks

- Serves as school lead on administrative team regarding behavioral initiatives within Esperanza School
- Assist with school-wide staff evaluations
- Provide and coordinate professional development and on-boarding support to staff
- Assist in collecting and analyzing program wide data , policy review and creation, and overall school assessment and development
- Collaborates with the administrative team to develop common goals to support students
- Supervise and oversee behavior technicians, crisis intervention paraprofessionals, and adult program behavior analysts
- Create and oversee adult behavior department budget and billing goals
- Oversee behavior department materials and reorder as needed

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee and coordinate IEP behavioral portions are completed by given deadlines
- Oversee completion of skill assessments by given deadline and analyze results as needed
- Coordinate and provide ongoing professional development to school staff
- Review behavioral data and analyze data for behavior plan edits or modifications
- Complete classroom observations to ensure student behavior plans are being implemented as written
- Oversee ongoing student behavior plan trainings as needed
- Oversee and analyze functional behavior assessment results
- Create behavior intervention plans based on functional behavior assessments or functional analysis
- Act as chairperson on Behavior Management Committee and coordinate all BMC meetings within the adult program
- Review and approve all adult behavior programming, including skill acquisition plans and behavior management plans
- Collaborate with academic, clinical, and transition teams regarding student behavior and skill programming
- Attend student and client meetings as needed




- Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or related field
- Three years experience in Applied Behavior Analysis
- BCBA or BCaBA certification preferred
