Overview
T he Neuroimaging research lab at Childrens Mercy is dedicated to the investigation of the pediatric brain and spine via advanced neuroimaging techniques. We aim to translate research tools into the real-world clinical needs of brain-related fields such as neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurology and psychiatry. We combine different approaches in understanding the pediatric brain and spine with the primary end goal of providing patients with new ways to diagnose and treat their condition.

Responsibilities
+ Train research coordinator for the individual study including consenting and use of forms to be reviewed with the patient or parents and signed.
+ Educate the radiology technologists and other research support personnel and assure compliance and understanding of research specific duties and responsibilities.
+ Periodically update Radiology Research Director of progress with various projects in the department.
+ This scientist will be responsible for human clinical and translational research. The candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Childrens Mercy Research Institute (CMRI) and will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of medical physicists, neuroscientists and clinicians
Qualifications
+ Ph.D. or MD and 3-5 years experience biomedical engineering or physics or other related fields.
Desirable qualifications and skills:
- PhD in biomedical engineering or physics or other related fields.
-A strong background in MRI physics is advantageous.
-experience in AI / ML based techniques is desirable.
- background in medical systems / medical image processing and data acquisition and analysis are required.
-proficiency in MATLAB is preferred.
- Experience with MRI data collection at 3T or 1.5T, preferably neuroimaging
- Desirable expertise in utilizing advanced MRI sequences (e.g., DTI, MRS, resting state fMRI etc.).
Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.87/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Childrens Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
