Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and monitoring of automatic and semi-automatic encapsulation equipment as well as associated support equipment. Addition responsibilities include assisting with lifting, moving, counting, organizing and cleaning as needed in various areas of the Manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembles and operates various manufacturing encapsulation equipment on a daily basis.
Performs in-process testing of products such as average capsule weight at specified intervals per established requirements.
Operates associated support equipment such as vacuum loader, capsule polisher, electronic scale, metal detector and inspection station.
Responsible for data entry and maintenance of process records, PM records and cleaning records.
Dismantles, cleans and performs basic maintenance of encapsulation machines and support equipment.
Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the work area, parts and utensils.
A strong ability to work multiple orders per day with extreme care to detail and accuracy.
Assists in capsule sorting, inspection and bottling operations.
Monitors machine output and product quality.
Data entry and maintenance of process records, work reports and maintenance logs, both computerized and physical.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Vocational degree, 2 years related experience or qualified training is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of cGMP practices and procedures.
Skilled at recognizing unsanitary conditions and practices.
Highly capable of following verbal instruction and carrying out specific commands the first time they are told.
Accurately performs follow-up and follow through with a high level of attention to time and periodic frequency QA checks and tests within the manufacturing and packaging environment.
Experience in food processing operations including knowledge of the food preparation environment and protocols.
Experience and knowledge of sanitization and cleaning protocols for the food and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and math with good counting skills.
Good comprehension and use of the metric system and weight and length.
Skill in handling multiple tasks at one time and able to prioritize accordingly.
Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently on complex and confidential tasks.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other associates.
The ability to read and write, complete various forms and paperwork including process and control documents with legible handwriting.
