Role Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, operating and supporting multi-tenant, scalable network solutions. Predix connectivity delivers a secure end-to-end connectivity via cellular, fixed & satellite. The role will routinely review, analyze and recommend network improvements to ensure that the Network can scale with the needs of the applications and services riding on it.
Essential Responsibilities:
Gather & review the end customer network requirement for connecting the various bidirectional
Plan and execute the approved network design in a specific change window
Monitor and optimize network performance and assure network security in a high availability environment
Work with telecom providers to report, troubleshoot, and resolve WAN related issues
Enforce and execute user policies and procedures regarding the use of network resources
Provide on-call support
Provide Premium end-user services across the site(s), acting as an escalation and resolution point for service issues and managing 3rd-party service providers (as needed) to ensure business needs are being met
Operate as the focal point for customer interaction and support for all local IT services including client, LAN, wireless, AV, conference room, telepresence, mobile and physical connectivity
Partner with DWSS and other IT teams on new technology introduction projects to communicate, plan for and ensure the campus is prepared to deploy and support the new solution
Ensure all business policies and standards related to client services, IT security and compliance are being met
Partner with teams within the Core Tech organization to drive simplification and cost-effective strategies, leveraging synergies to achieve the organization’s technology strategy mission
Anticipate, identify, and resolve technical problems, applying subject matter knowledge in complex, difficult, or extreme time constrained situations
SME for end-user technologies at a site. Communicate technical information, provide coaching and support to audiences at all levels of the organization
Be accessible outside normal business hours as needed to handle and resolve urgent technology issues that may arise
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
A minimum 2 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure operations or engineering teams
Eligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas,now or in the future for this job.
Must be willing to travel - 10%
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta, GA; Providence, RI; or Boston, MA

Desired Characteristics:
Technical expertise:
Routing expertise
Physical routers – Cisco & Juniper routers and switches
Linux based soft routers and routing protocols
Routing: BGP, OSPF, with hands-on experience managing Enterprise WAN
VPN – IPsec Tunnel, OpenVP, MPLS VPN
Firewall – Palo Alto Firewalls
Infoblox – DNS & IPAM solutions
Possess knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Ability to develop and follow procedures
Windows 7 and 10
Skype Meeting and Skype Broadcast
Office 365
Video Conferencing
Desired: CCNP/JNCIP-ENT with hands on knowledge
Preferred: CCNP-Security/JNCIP-Security
Business Acumen:
Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed networks
Previous experience of having worked with Agile methodologies a plus
Experience in mission critical IT operations support environments
Ability to effectively interface and influence at all levels of the organization and external customers
Experience working in a global, matrix organization
Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
Influences through others; builds direct and “behind the scenes” support for ideas
Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility and goodwill
