The Nonproliferation Systems (NS) Group, within the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division (NND) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, seeks to hire a .Net programmer to join its Software Development team. NND is a world:class leader in the development and deployment of technology for nuclear security.
Partnering with subject matter experts, our developers solve complex problems through software solutions including mission:management systems, data collection, materials tracking, and analytical tools. Main job responsibilities for the position include:
Collaborating with project managers, subject matter experts, and other developers to define and document requirements.
Developing and coding web and desktop applications, primarily in the Microsoft .NET environment.
Programming, testing, documenting, and managing data on new and existing software projects.
Translating and interpreting user requirements into functional software using standardized coding techniques.
Successful candidate will have either a B.S. degree in computer programming or related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft SQL Server are required.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre:placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program
Demonstrate an understanding of object:oriented programming and writing well:formed code following industry standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of an agile development team is expected. Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and working experience with Microsoft SQL Server, ranging from writing queries and stored procedures to generating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services. In addition, the candidate should be experienced in ASP.NET MVC/C development, programming with AJAX, and Web Services.

Your code sample should relate to one or more technologies in the qualifications sections. The goal of the code sample is to highlight both your interests and proficiency in software development and should be the sole work of the candidate to a very high degree ( :95).
