JOB DETAILS: Position Summary : Lead the advancement of contract research projects focused on natural fiber applications particularly in the areas of commercial wood fiber diversification, specialty paper manufacture, process improvements and efficiency, sustainable packaging, and repulpability and recyclability. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications PhD in Materials Science, Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, with a focus on natural fibers. Demonstrated experience in natural fiber research, particularly related to forest products, paper and packaging industries. Strong project management skills and experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both colleagues and industry clients. Preferred Qualifications Track record of innovation and problem-solving in natural fiber science. Knowledge of paper-making and molded fiber processes. Knowledge of the forest products industry in Wisconsin. Knowledge of current sustainability practices in the forest products, paper, packaging, and fiber industries.
