Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Claims overseeing our Financial Services claims team!
This position will be responsible for the end-to-end claims process in financial services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient resolution.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Claims Management
Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the claims team.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
Provides leadership and guidance to the claims processing team.
Fosters a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to maintain accuracy and consistency in claims handling.
Stay updated on financial industry regulations affecting claims processing.
Implement changes to procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Address escalated customer inquiries and concerns related to financial services claims.
Collaborate with customer service and other departments to resolve complex issues.
Prepare and present regular reports on claims activities, trends, and performance metrics.
Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement.
Identify and assess risks associated with claims processing.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Team leadership
Provide strong leadership to guide and inspire team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments.
Support team members in achieving their career goals.
Address conflicts and interpersonal issues within the team.
Implement resolution strategies to maintain a harmonious work environment.

What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4+ years leading business or operational teams to include 6 years of claims experience required with demonstrated proficiency.
4+ years of leading people and/or projects.
Demonstrated team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, building business solutions and/or claim accountabilities.
Proven experience in claims management.
In-depth knowledge of regulations and compliance standards.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication skills for internal team collaboration and external customer/client interaction.
Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Ability to travel up to 10% when needed.
Ideal candidate will reside in either Miami or Atlanta.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Claims manager level experience leading large operational teams.
Degree with Financial Services focus, such as Business or Law.
Claims adjusters License.
High level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
