The Lead Designer, Mechanical participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.
Explore your tasks and responsibilitiesDevelops mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing construction documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer and project manager Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external) Participates in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions Works with project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for ductwork and piping systems Performs equipment selection research and develop recommendations Participates in Services during Construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, site observation, preparation of field-issued sketches, participation in construction meetings, and preparation of preliminary and final punch lists, and as-built drawings Executes work within approved budgets, develop progress reports, and interface with clients and others Develops projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications and contractual requirements Produces construction documents and calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables Supports business development activities, including preparation of materials for qualifications, proposals, and interviews Mentors interns and junior members of project teams Developments of construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules and diagrams for HVAC, process mechanical and plumbing systems Performs technical tasks using applicable standards, procedures and codes Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts Other duties as assigned
