Come join our growing team at Burlington Stores as an IT Support Specialist II. We are looking for a dependable and assertive IT Support team member experienced in hands-on oversight of the operations for production system environments and applications by identifying, resolving or escalating system issues.

The Support Specialist II will provide expert application/technical system support by performing diagnostics of problems, troubleshooting, and developing technical solutions for customer problems related to software and set up errors. Our ideal candidate will troubleshoot medium-level complexity code related production support issues and also make simple code defect fixes as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for medium-level administrative and technical support functions for 3 rd party software used by internal staff

Triaging, troubleshooting and resolving software issues at the application and database level

Manage a queue of incoming service requests and incidents

Identifying and escalating potential production issues to the appropriate level

Acting as a liaison between engineering and the customer to provide technical information and updates, advise customers on basic configuration and functionality questions

Identify and correct batch issues: Monitor error reports, create and send batches

Maintain, review, and approve knowledge base documentation

Provide on-call support

Answer questions and mentor customer support analysts

Education/Licenses/Certification/Registration:

College education

Equivalent vocational competence development in the IS sector

At least 5 years IS/application support required

Skills and Abilities:

Good Communicator

Team Player

Problem Solver

Basic knowledge of Unix, Linux

Microsoft office 2003, 2007

Solid understanding of basic networking protocols and related troubleshooting utilities

Knowledge of retail IT hardware

Strong knowledge in SQL scripting

Java scripting (a plus)

Oracle Applications support (a plus)

A+ certifications and Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCDST, etc) are a plus

Knowledge of ITIL best practices (a plus)

Physical Requirements:

Required to sit 90% of work day

Local travel between corporate locations

Required to be on-call up to 6 months of the year
