Definition of Class 13;
This position provides international trade assistance to businesses to expand economic growth. The incumbent fosters growth and opportunity by providing measurable economic impact and value, conducts market research and provides advisory services, develops and delivers training programs for Mississippi businesses and staff, and identifies international trade opportunities for expansion into new markets.
Examples of Work Performed 13;
:Provides international trade assistance to small and medium size businesses located in Mississippi.
:Ensures the Mississippi SBDC International Trade Center (ITC) fosters economic growth and opportunity by providing measurable economic impact and value.
:Assesses import/export readiness value of sales for businesses who have not previously exported.
:Conducts market research and provides advisory services on issues such as international marketing, cultural aspects of marketing, product distribution in foreign markets, compliance, intellectual property rights in other countries, international trade finance and payment options, and global logistics.
:Develops and provides specialized training programs to a variety of interested parties on a wide range of import/export trade matters.
:Establishes and oversees a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) training program to prepare business counselors to receive their CGBP credentials.
:Identifies public and private sector international trade related internship opportunities for placement of higher education host students.
:Develops and maintains relationships to secure ongoing funding for the International Trade Center.
:Supports the mission, vision and values of the Mississippi SBDC.
:Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

:Develops training programs and provides education on import/export trade matters.
:Provides guidance and supervision to staff.
Minimum Education/Experience 13;
Bachelors Degree in International Business Administration, Economics, Business, Marketing or a related field from an accredited four:year college or university.
Five (5) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Licensure: NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP)
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
