Position Summary and Responsibilities
Teledyne Scientific Company is seeking candidates for an internship to support advanced research and development in algorithm and software development for machine learning applications. This position is at our research laboratory in Research Triangle Park, Durham, North Carolina.
Primary Responsibilities:
The position involves learning and performing tasks related to mathematics, computer software development, laboratory experiments and demonstrations. Specific duties include:
Design, develop and test mathematical algorithms for various projects involving signal processing
Design, develop and test software related to signal and image processing
Participate in regular meetings with staff
Work closely with mentor to learn techniques and tools needed to perform technical tasks
Prepare and present results to technical staff
Qualifications
Skills/Experience:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with computer programming languages, software and/or firmware development and the required tools such as compilers, debuggers and development environments
Able to organize perform and coordinate project related tasks and communicate progress to project team members
Strong oral and written communication abilities
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Education:
Junior status in a relevant BS program (Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
