Salary Range $75-85K Job Summary The Human Resource Manager will lead and perform routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
A Wider Circle recently built an HR infrastructure to streamline HR operations. We seek an experienced Human Resource professional to maintain these new systems and continue standardizing organizational/departmental onboarding, candidate pipelines, and staff training.
As an organization leader and ambassador, the Manager of Human Resources will need to be a strong advocate for A Wider Circle's mission to advance equity through innovative social services.
This position is a Hybrid role, and the HR Manager will be required to be onsite for a minimum of three days after spending at least 90 days fully onsite.
Supervisory Responsibilities Interns and Volunteers
Essential functions-primary responsibilities Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Manages onboarding process for new employees. Attends career fairs and other outreach events related to hiring. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements/maintains new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs bi-weekly payroll processing. Provides risk management, anti-harassment training, and other training specific to organizational needs. Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive employment-related questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminating employees. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies and practices to ensure compliance. Manages and ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including maintaining the employee handbook and staying up-to-date with best practices and new employment laws. Ensures organizational practices and policies are aligned with our commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. Manages the processes and policies related to leave, benefits, and other organizational policies, and manages relationships with related vendors. Performs other duties as assigned. Required education and experience Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or related fields At least five years of experience working in human resources or related. At least three years of experience working as a Human Resource Manager Preferred education and experience At least two years of nonprofit experience in a human resources capacity is highly preferred Experience leading diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives is a plus SHRM-CP is a plus.
