McWane Ductile- Utah is in need of aHR Generalist. We are a world class manufacturer of ductile iron pipe and have been in operation since 1926. This person will provide a variety of Human Resources services to mangers, supervisors, and employees. They will assist in the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies and procedures.

Work Environment:The majority of work occurs in an office setting; however, occasional work in the plant is required. The plant itself is a heavy Industrial setting where exposure to high heat and loud machinery may occur. PPE is provided for these occasions.
Physical Demands:Frequently required to stand; walk; sit. Occasionally required to kneel and lifting and/or up to 25 pounds.
Position type and expected hours of work:Full time scheduled typical work schedule is 8:00AM – 5:00PM with additional and or flexing of scheduled hours as needed. Schedule is subject to change.
Travel: Some travel but infrequent.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with administration of employee recognition and advancement programs, which includes tracking, processing and distribution of certificates and rewards.
Supports development, preparation and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures.
Assists with benefit administration, open enrollment events, and life events.
Become the Wellness Committee chairperson and lead a team to help implement and create wellness programs for our company.
Track attendance and draft attendance letters as needed.
Maintain our probation review, ensuring reviews are provided to the supervisors and returned to HR.
Assist with onboarding new employees, pre-employment background checks, physicals, and providing plant tours to new applicants.
Review benefits packages with new employees during orientation and assist with benefit enrollment. Collect the required documentation and audit to ensure accuracy.
Process new hire paperwork including I9 verification and Department of Workforce Services site.
Complete employment verifications and Office of Recovery Service notices.
Contributes to and furthers the recruitment branding and marketing initiatives: website, social media, job fairs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent related work experience.
Two years of experience preferred.
Ability to differentiate and interpret situations where discretion is required to maintain confidentiality and protect information.
Preferred experience with UltiPro software.
Sound decision making and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
A sound general knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource administration including labor relations.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
