Assistant Manager -  Real Time Tactical Operations & Intelligence Center
Under the direction of the Manager, the Assistant Manager of the Real-Time Tactical Operations & Intelligence Center (RT-TOIC) is responsible for the management and administration of maintaining coordinated crime prevention and public safety services between law enforcement field operations and RT-TOIC personnel.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES EXAMPLES OF WORK Coordinate with Police Department's commanders to ensure RT-TOIC operations are aligned with and in direct support of the department's strategic and tactical operations. Develop and recommend standard operating procedure changes to improve efficiency. Monitor and evaluate resource utilization metrics, proactive alignment, quantitative and qualitative levels of crime prevention effort, and the existence of criminal activity to determine sufficiency and effectiveness. Conduct staff performance evaluations on a regular basis and make recommendations on promotions, demotions, etc. Assist in hiring additional staff for RT-TOIC operations to meet clients' goals and objectives. When necessary, initiate disciplinary measures for policy violations. Assist in functionality of the RT-TOIC at all times and coordinate that all positions are staffed properly. Assist in conducting the development of  training curriculum for staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and understanding of RT-TOIC operations and techniques. Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members to enhance their performance and professional development. Collaborate with the manager to ensure training initiatives align with the clients goals and objectives. Verify that integrated technology systems are in good working order.   Lead and/or assist with special projects and public safety efforts. Make recommendations to the manager and police command staff regarding the deployment of operational resources, tiered response protocols, and command control issues. Manage associate's payroll, PTO, and schedules. Conduct phone screening, interviews, and new hire orientation for potential and new employees. Has a flexible schedule to assist in adhering to daily staffing requirements for Team Lead and Tactical Operations Coordinator positions. Performs related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited college or university; Two years of supervisory-management experience Three years of Real Time Tactical Operation Intelligence Center operations experience is preferred. NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of management principles and practices. Knowledge of intelligence techniques, operations, and analytical projects involving interrelated subject areas. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to effectively present findings to command level officers and other local, State and Federal law enforcement officials. Ability to effectively represent the client when interacting with counterparts throughout the Intelligence and law enforcement communities. Ability to manage and supervise others. Ability to present research findings in a concise and well-organized manner. Knowledge of computer systems in order to conduct research and analyze data.
