The Guest Services Representative, at the Osage Nation Visitors Center, greets all visitors as they come into the center and provides them with the information and/or resources they need. The primary duty of this position is to make the visitor feel welcome and provide them with any information they need to help ensure their visit to the center and Pawhuska is a positive one. The center serves as an introduction to the history and culture of the Osage Nation and Osage Nation Reservation.
This position is responsible to engage the visitor, share information, history and stories about the Osage and guide them through viewing the displays while promoting the Osage Tribal Museum and the Wah Zha Zhi Cultural Center. They will also provide information on other non-Osage activities and sights to visit in the area. Free written materials should be pointed out and made available for visitors to take with them.
Associate' Degree in Museum Studies, Travel Industries, Communications, Marketing or related fields preferred Requires knowledge of history of the Osage Nation Must have knowledge, experience, participation, and involvement in Osage Tradition and Culture as practiced by the Osage People Experience in retail sales required Experience in the Travel/Tourism/Hospitality industry a plus Must be friendly and outgoing, willing to share information and discuss topics of interest to visitors Must be self-motivated and able to share insight and direction with co-workers in a cooperative manner that creates a welcome environment for guests Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation Requires experience with computers and Microsoft Office Must be able to demonstrate the ability to organize and complete multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner Must maintain confidentiality at all times Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions Must be able to pass a criminal background check Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing Must have a clean driving record - may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
