Position Overview:
CYC is seeking a passionate and experienced Grant Writer to join our team on a contract basis. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities to support our programs and initiatives, contributing to our mission of empowering individuals and fostering community resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources that align with CYC's mission and programs.
- Develop high-quality grant proposals and applications tailored to the requirements of each funding opportunity, highlighting CYC's impact and outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with CYC's leadership team and program staff to gather necessary information, data, and testimonials for grant submissions.
- Manage the grant application process from start to finish, ensuring adherence to deadlines and submission requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, outcomes, and reporting deadlines, and assist in preparing grant reports as needed.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to support CYC's ongoing grant-seeking efforts.
- Stay informed about grant trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in grant writing and fundraising to enhance CYC's grant-seeking strategy.

Note: This is a contract position, and the Grant Writer will work remotely from anywhere within the United States, preferably Washington State.
Requirements Qualifications:
- Proven track record of securing significant grant funding for non-profit organizations, with a minimum of $500,000 secured.
- Experience in grant writing and proposal development, particularly in the social services sector, addressing issues related to housing, education, youth empowerment, or community development.
- Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant grant opportunities and funding sources for CYC's programs and initiatives.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate CYC's impact and outcomes to potential funders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple grant projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
- Familiarity with grant management systems, databases, and reporting requirements is a plus.
- Highly preferred experience working with non-profits in Seattle, WA or Washington State.
- Experienced consultant with a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits Compensation:
- Base pay of $2500 for each grant secured.
- 1% commission/bonus for grants over $15,000.
- Additional 3% commission/bonus for grants over $45,000.
