Front End Developer Description OVERVIEW Georgia Power is seeking a Front-End Developer to join our Brand Creative Team. The Front-End Developer is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming.
The developer will translate the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application or site. They will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
The developer writes clean code to create visually appealing applications that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.
The developer will also assist in updating and maintaining internal and external websites in our content management systems Adobe Experience Manager and OpenText’s TeamSite. They will need to be able to deconstruct designs in order to rebuild them inside the CMS.
The Developer will also be tasked with pulling analytics reports, delivering actionable insights and leveraging software such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Adobe DTM/Launch and Adobe Target.
Responsible for executing clean and progressively enhanced code for complex designs that reflect the creative and brand direction provided within the established technical framework
Review/analyze information architecture and wireframes
Work with team members to resolve gaps and assist with the architectural implementation of creative/UX direction
Ensures all branding guidelines are followed to the letter on their assigned projects
Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications based on usability
Provide application maintenance and enhancements
Use a combination of markup languages to write web pages
Write functional requirement documents and specifications
Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting

Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
Stay up to date on emerging technologies

Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Review analytics and deliver actionable insights
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Serve as an active participant in department crisis communications preparations and activities (storms, emergencies, etc)
Participate in Corporate Communication department meetings and serve on work teams as requested.
Skills and knowledge required
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, computer science, human-computer interaction, or a related field
Minimum of three years of front-end development experience
Experience with CSS Preprocessors (SASS, LESs)
Knowledge in Web Services (REST/SOAP) and API's.
Understanding of cross-browser development
Proficient in Git and Version Control Systems
Strong client-service orientation and experience working in a fast-paced environment
Experience with back-end frameworks used to develop dynamic web pages (ASP.NET/JSP/PHP, Node.js, etc.) and version control systems
Strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe DTM/Launch, OpenText TeamSite, as well as software programs like the Adobe Creative Suite
Deep functional knowledge or hands-on design experience with web services (REST, SOAP, etc.)
Ability to produce W3C compliant markup
Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to ecommerce applications
Experience with responsive and adaptive design
Understanding of the concepts of progressive enhancement, mobile first and future friendly design highly encouraged
Familiarity with cross-browser testing and debugging
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the creative team and clients at all levels
Ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to new web design and application trends
A firm grasp of SEO/SEM best practices
Able to approach development with modularity in mind to accommodate shifting priorities and the challenges associated with rapid prototyping
Ability to multitask and quickly produce interim deliverables (such as style guide components, prototypes, proofs of concept, etc.) in addition to the final live site or application
