In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. Position Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
FPA Assembly Technician is a hands-on position for executing daily assembly manufacturing operations of infrared and visible imaging focal plane array (FPA) assemblies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows. This position will be trained on the first shift but will move to second shift, once fully trained.
Perform production assembling and inspection of FPA assemblies and packages
Perform precision alignment, die attachment, and ICD measurements
Follow process travelers, drawings, work instructions and procedures
Maintain manufacturing workflow, work instructions and equipment calibration
Document and report promptly any nonconforming events from manufacturing
Contribute to manufacturing troubleshooting and hardware rework
Recommend process improvements or changes as needed
Work with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for recording data
Observe ESD safety practices and cleanroom practices
Must be available to work 2nd shift
Be able to work flexible schedule and additional hours as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical measurements
Ability to handle small precision mechanical components
Good math, observation and communication skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to apply company policies and procedures to daily work
Education and Experiences
High School Diploma with five or more years of experience or Associates Degree with three or more years of experience in a related field
Training in cleanroom operation and laboratory practices including ESD precautions for handling of sensitive semiconductor devices
Citizenship Requirements
Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.
