Essential DutiesAssists Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs in long-range planning, personnel issues, and budgetary matters.
Develops marketing and recruitment strategies.
Assists in the development of data-driven recruitment strategies by leveraging data collected from multiple sources to evaluate relevant trends, identifying potential competition, and strengthening the University?s market position.
Plans and develops recruitment activities to promote the University.
Serves on committees as prescribed by University policy and/or assigned by the Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Administers the University?s prospective / admitted student database and customer relationship management systems. Ensures the integrity of these systems as well as the productivity of these systems in the recruitment and admissions function.
Interacts regularly with Office of Financial Aid, Registrar?s Office, Information Technology Services, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, and other offices.
Provides accurate data to appropriate agencies and campus offices in a timely fashion, as requested, to ensure compliance with Board, state, and federal regulatory policy.
Works with department chairs and deans to ensure the Office of Admissions is providing detailed information to prospective students about academic programs and opportunities.
Works with the Office of University Relations to develop marketing information necessary for recruitment such as brochures, posters and promotional items.
Plans and develops Alumni/Admissions programs with the Director for Alumni Relations.
Works with high school and community college counselors to promote the University and admissions process.
Participates in and conducts student recruitment programs with other members of the faculty and staff.
Gives presentations to prospective students, families, counselors, and groups about the University and admissions process.
Coordinates and implements a program of recruitment for high school and community college students.
Counsels students having problems related to the admissions process.
Recommends scholarship programs that will enhance recruitment.
Attends prospective student parties, counselor luncheons, and alumni chapter meetings as needed.
Monitors new scholarship recommendations made by the Office of Admissions.
Interacts regularly with student-athletes and/or Department of Athletics personnel and maintains compliance related to student-athletes and athletics personnel. Reports concerns or possible violations of these guidelines to immediate supervisor.
Possesses and maintains a valid Driver?s License.
Supervise and support the admission and ongoing enrollment of international students in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Other duties as assigned by the Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree required; Five (or more) years of experience working in an admissions environment; Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; Strong belief in working with a collaborative spirit to achieve successful outcomes for faculty, staff, students, and the region; Experience supervising others; Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; Strong belief in working with a collaborative spirit to achieve successful outcomes for faculty, staff, students, and the region; Commitment to working inclusively and respectfully within a diverse campus community.
Preferred qualifications:
Ability to work with large data sets and Microsoft Excel. Banner and Admissions/Recruitment software experience; Master?s degree.
Job Description Summary
Mississippi University for Women invites applications for the Director of Admissions. Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), the Director leads and manages the Office of Admissions. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fostering relationships with high school and community college students and personnel, supervising undergraduate recruitment and services, executing actions within the Strategic Enrollment Plan, supervising the processing of applications, leveraging customer relationship management (CRM) strategies and systems, providing accurate data to various offices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, acting with the highest ethical standards, and evaluating best practice approaches for actions and processes. The Director of Admissions is a key member of multiple committees such as Academic Council, Enrollment Management Directors Council, and Strategic Enrollment Planning Council.
