The Retirement Income Strategies team is responsible for managing and executing a strategic vision and roadmap that leverages and builds on retirement income as a competitive differentiator for TIAA. This position will report to the Senior Director, Retirement Income Strategies, and will focus on developing a leading retirement income digital experience for customers transitioning into retirement. Additional responsibilities will include serving as the lead for both payout product development efforts and ongoing product management, leading development of innovative income products and features that increase the appeal of annuitization to customers. This individual will identify and implement a multi-year roadmap in consultation with Product, Actuarial, Distribution and other stakeholders that builds upon the foundational investments made via the Immediate Annuity program.
The Director is responsible for absorbing and using knowledge about a highly diverse offer and will work across TFS Product and the entire organization to ensure TIAA has a leading retirement income experience and solution set that provides customers an industry-differentiated offer. The role requires an individual with a diverse array of product management skills, a solid understanding of the immediate annuities and working knowledge of TIAA’s front, middle and back office operations. Knowledge of TIAA’s IT systems, in particular the new Immediate Annuity record keeping system, is preferred.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Nearing retirement income experience development: partnering with teams across Customer Experience, Digital, Distribution, Product, Operations and Marketing in redesigning the various customer facing experiences (such as Illustration and Income Planning tools) to allow customers to select their preferred income strategy and seamlessly complete the annuity application process. Director will lead a team developing the high level technical strategy, building upon IA Program capabilities, as well as the associated user interface and process for back-office annuity processing. Related work activities will include developing the desired target state product experience in partnership with the business stakeholders mentioned above, and working across the organization to identify business requirements, develop a business case and manage the governance process during implementation.
Ongoing Product Management: serving as a subject matter expert for income and annuity options within the team and across the enterprise. This role will partner closely with the Marketing, Digital and Advice teams to ensure that income illustrations are accurate and provide a simple and clear explanation of benefits for various income options.
Staff Supervision: managing assigned resources, either direct staff or project resources, determining assignments, overseeing program management and quality of work.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree7 or more years’ of relevant experience to include experience in a client facing, operations process improvement, product management, development or implementation function or positionKnowledge of retirement products and income capabilities and offerFINRA Series 6, 63 and State Insurance License required or to be obtained within 120 days from date of hire; additional registrations and licenses may be required in the futureMay require travel up to 25% of the time
