Responsibilities

Creative copywriters are accountable for the overall voice of our family of brands. They partner with designers & all levels of management as well as their internal clients to craft effective messaging in a number of marketing and advertising vehicles in order to inspire the customer. Creative Writers, in conjunction with the Creative Director & design team, drives campaigns and related projects from conceptualization to rollout, ensuring all communications adhere to the approved Brand vision. They collaborate with the design team to address business goals in the development of editorial, educational and promotional messaging for various individual projects including local and national advertising, email, direct mail, web, social, instore signing and digital.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Copy: Write copy for various print, video/TV & radio scripts, signage and digital materials. Drives execution of projects from beginning to end to ensure consistency of voice and accuracy of information, on time and on strategy. Collaborates with writers, designers and management to ensure each piece delivers a strong brand presence and customer call to action. Also writes articles for online how-to & educational informational tool/blog to engage audiences and drive brand affinity and trust. Conduct appropriate research to ensure authenticity and accuracy of information delivered.

Concepting: Concept and develop complete integrated marketing campaigns in conjunction with creative partners. Focus on thematic brand approach, visual and voice standards, activation ideas and tactical promotion to fully realize breakthrough creative that supports the brand vision and stands out from the clutter. Functions as a key resource to help drive the campaign team in message development. Crafts the overall voice/tone for a given campaign and sees that vision through production. Participates in brainstorming sessions and works with the entire team to concept and develop results-driven creative solutions.

Execution: Proof all copy work and ensure accuracy and adherence to all style standards are met for both promo and editorial copy. Does appropriate research to ensure articles and brand/campaign copy is authentic and accurate, meets financing and legal guidelines where appropriate, and ensures work is vetted with passionate subject matter experts such as doctors or dentists when needed. Guard and promote our brand authority/trust in all executions.

Content: Develop scripts and plans for video shoots & audio sessions in conjunction with the Creative Director and other team partners. Partner and have excellent communication with crew, both internal and external. Direct VO talent in recording sessions.

Craftsmanship: Must be a student of the craft - staying abreast of current retail trends and industry news, new media platforms and best in class practices and procedures. Bring new ideas to ensure we are continuously improving the work and the way we work. Must also ensure authenticity and that the messaging is appropriate to the audience and objective of the project.

Minimum Education and Experience

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Art/Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or related field. 5-7 years experience.
Must have a proven track record delivering creative solutions from concept through final execution. Must have a strong portfolio.
Partner cross-functionally, flexibility, ability to handle change in a fast paced environment, self-starter/proactive, prioritization, problem solving/trouble shooting
