The Glebe is seeking a Cook to join our team.Our upscale retirement community is looking for a professional, experienced Cook who has a passion for food and a strong attention to detail. We have Full-Time and/or Part-Time hours. Our dining program features a menu that offers many cooked to order options including steaks, scallops, crab cakes and pasta dishes. The successful Cook will be familiar in running a grill, sauté and fry station. This person should also be able to follow and convert recipes for meal preparation. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food preparation and presentation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare menu items according to house recipes and production numbersPlan food production to coordinate with meal serving hoursFollow standard recipes and special diet ordersOperate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficientlyAdhere to all sanitation and food production codesClean and maintain kitchen equipment and appliancesAssist with creation of nightly specials and updates to daily mennMinimum Qualifications:Previous experience in cooking and culinary artsKnowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniquesStrong attention to detailGood knife skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment* Ability to work well in teamBenefits:Competitive pay, based on experienceFour 10-hour shifts a week (3 days off!)Full benefit packageGenerous vacation packageRetirement matching programGreat hours, be home by 8pm nightly Benefits of working as a Cook in Daleville, VA:
