Role Summary:
The Commodity Management Specialist will negotiate with and manage dedicated suppliers in accordance with the processes defined in the Middle River Aircraft Systems Sourcing Manual. In the role of Commodity Management Specialist, You will achieve the best contractual conditions, pricing, terms, & delivery while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, as the Commodity Management Specialist, you will:
Manage the entire life cycle of the supplier relationship from RFP through contract fulfillment status
Define, present & administer supplier strategy to ensure best overall value is obtained, including consistent delivery to schedule & quality requirements
Lead negotiations ranging from Long Term Agreements to individual Purchase Orders, seeking input & direction from functional management
Negotiate terms and conditions, ensuring proper Sourcing and Legal approvals are obtained
Manage and lead claim negotiations and support special projects as required
Monitor engineering change activity & ensure any supplier impacts that could affect the timely support of production and program cost targets is considered and properly vetted prior to acceptance of change, such as:
contract terms
lead times
and any other circumstances
Present to senior leaders in specific purchasing space on how purchasing contributes to overall strategy
Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements
Communicate and coordinate activities as required cross-functionally including:
and manufacturing

4 year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of Sourcing experience)
Strategic sourcing experience (Including RFP’s, supplier selection, contract negotiations & management, etc.)
Ability and Willingness to travel, 10%
Desired Characteristics:
4 year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business degree is preferred)
Knowledge in sourcing machined, sheet metal, and/or plastic details
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Critical self-thinker and strong problem solving skills & ability to operate independently
Strong Excel skills and other Microsoft Office tools
Familiar with ERP systems (Oracle and/or SAP desired) and SRM’s
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Lean manufacturing experience
Effective leadership skills
