Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Boiler/Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the 24/7 Boiler Team and leading night shift personnel. This person will be the key site contact for boiler and steam equipment and systems to include annual inspections, contractor management, repairs, and natural gas efficiency.

This position will work Sunday-Thursday from approximately 12:00pm-9:00pm.

Main responsibilities include:

Responsible for ensuring safe processes and procedures are in place and followed. Report incidents timely, partner with Environmental, Health, and Safety and HR as necessary.

Build and maintain knowledge of boiler equipment and regulations. Within 12 months obtain boiler certification if not already certified.

Lead Boiler Team: ensure a team of knowledgeable, autonomous, and reliable boiler operators
Interview, onboard and train team to maintain 4 boiler operators

Manage schedule and coverage during time off

Answer questions and direct activities as necessary after hours

Maintain work instructions and SOPs

Conduct annual reviews

Oversee annual boiler inspection and bi-annual tune up of 4 boilers and bubble tests (3 in main facility, 1 at tank farm), follow up on all recommended repairs and action items.

Recommend and participate in capital investment in boiler, steam, and trap equipment

Main contact for vendors, MTI (boilers), Kaeser (compressors), Packer City (softeners) and others.

Ensure off-site storage facility (tank farm) is well maintained

Oversee winter and summer readiness activities: steam wands, coils, steam traps, etc.

Ensure daily maintenance schedule for the shift is well executed and prioritize Emergency/Break-In work as needed.

Facilitate 6pm maintenance shift meeting and update team with necessary information to include safety updates, general reminders, communication on plant issues, large repairs, etc.


3 to 5 years in Maintenance, Boiler, or other technical experience in an industrial environment

2 to 3 years at a leadership level position preferred

Experience working with boiler or steam systems is a plus.

Excellent communication skills

Ability to troubleshoot and involve other resources as needed
