Hennepin County is seeking an Assistant County Assessor to manage the Data and Analytics division of the of the County Assessor's Office. Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be located at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility.  While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.   About the position type:  
This position is a full-time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee of t he Hennepin County Assessor's Office to apply for this position. Limited duration employees not eligible.
This position is internally classified as an Assessor, Assistant County. Click here to view the job classification specification. NOTE:  You must include a cover letter and resume as part of your application materials to be considered for this position. In this position you will: Manage the Data and Analytics division of the County Assessor's Office. Assign, review, and coordinate the work of staff. Administer the evaluation of sales ratio studies, analyze assessment levels in taxing district to assure required standards are met, and recommend actions to correct inequities in local assessments. Prepare the division budget, and approve expenditures. Analyze legislation and direct the implementation of changes required by new legislation. Prepare annual detailed assessor's instructions. Oversee the preparation of assessment rolls; the recording and evaluation of sales information and ratio studies; and data processing activities of the department.   Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Need to have: One of the following: Bachelor's degree or higher in real estate or closely related field, and six years or more of mass appraisal experience, including two years or more of supervisory experience. Eight years or more of assessment, assessment administration, or real estate appraisal experience with all types of real property, including two years or more of supervisory experience. A Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor (SAMA) certification from the Minnesota State Board of Assessors or an advanced professional designation from a nationally recognized appraisal organization. Nice to have: Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to successfully apply diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices in efforts to reduce racial and other disparities. Personal or professional experience or education around addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, differing ability equity. Experience assessing property.
