In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.
Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will start on day shift for training but will transition to a swing/night shift. Applicants applying must agree to make this transition.

Assembly Technician is a hands-on position for executing and supporting manufacturing activities of infrared (IR) focal plane array (FPA) assemblies. This position requires to work alongside the FPA production team in the cleanroom and is responsible for the assembly and manufacturing of FPA assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows travelers, work instructions and procedures for all work performed on hardware
Work with production team to maintain and develop assembly processes
Generate, update and maintain manufacturing workflow and work instructions
Develop and preform precision alignment, die attachment, and CMM measurements
Perform wirebonding from hybrid to the package
Conduct and oversee in-process inspections, data analysis, and documentation
Contribute to manufacturing troubleshooting and hardware rework
Document and report promptly any nonconforming events from manufacturing
Performs cleaning, measurement and inspection of sensor chip assemblies; verifies critical dimensions
Promptly documents any nonconforming events that may occur during cleaning and/or inspections
Inspects and cleans components at all when needed
Evaluates parts in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements and prepares documentation as required
Recommends process improvements or changes as required for new designs and product optimization
Working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for reporting and tracking
Ability to work flexible schedule and additional hours as needed.

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

Demonstrated competency in the use of electronic diagnostic and test equipment
Demonstrated aptitude in troubleshooting electrical equipment failures and fault isolation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to read and comprehend detailed work instructions
Ability to perform rework and repair of electrical components, along with sub-level and top-level assemblies
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations for weight, center of gravity, torque and dimensional measurements
Proficiency in the use of a PC and applications – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Knowledge of performing precision cleaning, wirebonding, dicing, probing, and/or polishing a plus
Knowledge of safe ESD practices needed

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience
Three (3) plus years of work related experience in microelectronic device fabrication
Three (3) plus years of experience with hands on assembly of complex assemblies which include a combination of electronics and mechanical components
Experience with Infrared detectors, assemblies, and Cameras a plus
Active J-STD Solder Certification is a plus

Other Qualifications:
