The primary purpose of this position is to function independently in providing support to the Agency Director and Business Officer. This position requires knowledge of the entire agency and its basic functions. This position is an essential component in the hub of information for different units of the agency and helps manage the flow of information between the various units and departments of the agency. This position must maintain an effective, credible working relationship with agency personnel, county officials, NCDHHS and the general public.
Additionally, this position provides supervision to the entire Clerical Support Unit and each individual staff member there in, to include all functions of interviewing and selection, training, guidance/direction, and assignment of tasks.
This position provides security training and is responsible for the security compliance for the entire agency as well as other miscellaneous administrative functions. The requirements of the work completed by this support person is subject to constant change and interruption, which keeps the stress level high.

Education and Experience: Completion of high school and four years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative/office management experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and two years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative, office management experience; or completion of a four-year program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration, or other related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must have high-level computer skills and be highly efficient in Microsoft Office programs. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve various computer user issues.
