BWC is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that can incorporate both teleworking and in-office hours. Employees may be required to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training. BWC is seeking Employer Coverage Representative (Account Examiner 2) for our Underwriting Department.
What You'll Be Doing: Under direction, in the employer source system upload no review audits and update employer demographics on policies per auditor instruction; Update the audit tracker Assigns the appropriate NCCI classification to claims with no classification assigned; performs review of class codes assigned to claims; Process elective coverage from audit findings Ensures all coverage questions are explained & accurate National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) classifications are assigned according to SCOPES (manual used as explanations for NCCI classifications); Identifies policies for audit; refers audit to appropriate Field Services Office; sends correspondence What's in it for you:

Qualifications
Required Experience and/or Education: 12 mos. exp. as Accountant/ Examiner 1, 66111, with state government exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned. Or 24 mos. exp. in position involving review & processing of claims, collections, billings, payments or review of documents for accuracy, completeness &/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws or rules with exp. commensurate to duties to be assigned. Or 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 mos. exp. in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Position may require use of proficiency demonstration to determine minimum class qualifications for employment.
Necessary Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of accounting, BWC policies, procedures, laws, rules & regulations*, public relations, human relations, federal & state regulations governing documents processed, reviewed &/or prepared*, principles of customer service, oral & written business communication, BWC website & internal resource system*;
Skill in use of general office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, calculator, Cisco and Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) phone), PC & peripheral equipment (e.g., printer, scanner, etc.),Microsoft Office software (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access), BWC-specific software (e.g., CoreSuite, BWCWeb)*, SharePoint*, internet search engines*, English communication (listening, writing, reading, phone etiquette), data entry;
Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers, copy records precisely without error, complete routine forms & prepare standard reports & business correspondence*, proofread technical materials, define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions, use proper research methods in gathering data, gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things, understand manuals & verbal instructions, technical in nature, answer routine & technical inquiries from public & sensitive inquiries from & contacts with other government officials, general public, claimants &/or providers, resolve complaints from angry citizens & government officials, make proper referrals within agency & external sources, communicate (written & oral) professionally with injured workers, employers, providers, public, work alone on most tasks & work as a team.

BWC OCSEA Selection Rights
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. BWC bargaining unit members have selection rights before non-bargaining unit members. All other applications will only be considered if an internal bargaining unit applicant is not selected for this position. Salary Information
Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary is set at lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results.
