Job Description Pay Rate: $21 an hour
SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material and products. Additional responsibilities may include replenishing stock, handling will-calls (customer orders), and loading trailers for intercompany transfer of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product receipt and shipment. Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials or other packaged items. Fill customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or convey orders to packing station or shipping stations. Prepare customer orders by assembling product on pallets. Read production schedules, customer orders, and work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. Off load bulk lubricants on trucks into tanks or totes. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed (custody log). Ensure product packaging and product quality standards are met.
Product storage. Fill drums or containers. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in drums according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code. Mark materials with required identifying information. Move stock, and other materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or using drum dollies, pallet jacks and forklifts. Connect hoses and operate equipment to move liquid materials into and out of storage tanks and into totes, drums or other containers. Pack and unpack products to be stocked on shelves in warehouse. Store items in warehouse in an orderly and accessible manner.
Warehouse and equipment maintenance. Participate in monthly inventory counts. Perform pre-production and post-production duties, including ongoing maintenance in the warehouse. Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks, and return them after use. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Comply with all appropriate safety-related policies and procedures. Complete daily tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; able to write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Able to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 3+ years warehouse experience, petroleum distribution industry experience preferred. Certification and ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, drum dollies, drum truck and pumps. 8-hour HAZWOPER training with re-certification annually.
