Position Overview:
As a Virtual Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing student success by collaborating with our dedicated team and families. Your responsibilities will include tailoring academic support, crafting personalized graduation and career plans, and offering proactive counseling services.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups
Provide responsive counseling and programming to meet individual and group needs
Review transfer student transcripts and ensure appropriate course placements
Maintain and review transcripts for active students and facilitate credit award procedures
Develop and maintain student graduation plans
Offer career readiness curriculum and guide the creation of career plans
Facilitate Social-Emotional Learning curriculum
Create and manage Student 504 plans
Utilize student data analysis to inform academic programs and interventions
Support testing efforts and school events within the state as required
Qualifications:
Possession of a valid West Virginia Counselor license
Bachelor's degree along with at least one (1) year of prior counseling or advisement experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with the ASCA model
Experience with K-12 online learning
Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
Aptitude for managing challenging situations and making evidence-based decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently
Customer service mindset
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks
