Validation Engineer - Novi, MI - Denso Ten
POSITION SUMMARY This position focuses on manual validation for bench and in-vehicle setting. Bench test includes bench-simulation and bench setup preparation (including hardware troubleshooting) and simulation using equipment like CANoe, SG, etc. In-vehicle evaluation includes drive-evaluation (check sheets and random operation to find bugs) and preparation of test vehicle (including retrofitting and troubleshooting). In vehicle test requires to spend average of 46hrs/day in a vehicle.
When a bug is found, a tester needs to be able to isolate an issue for bug report/clear communication with other engineering groups.
Other responsibilities may include testing of audio evaluation, radio evaluation, electrical evaluation, function evaluation, and VR/ BT/ HF/ IOP evaluation.
This position will also require reading and understanding product specification for evaluation, test case creation and troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting usually involves use of multimeter and oscilloscope along with product specifications like wire harness diagram, block diagram and schematic.
The position will cover all aspects of evaluations including preparation, test environment build, troubleshooting analysis, vehicle modifications, and creation/maintenance of bug reports/tickets on JIRA.
Detailed oriented qualities, strong problem-solving skill and time management skill are required to maintain daily output and remain on target for completion of all evaluations.
The job is not only limited to testing and creation of test cases, but it will also require compiling and installation of version-up software, regular documentation, reporting, analysis, test scenario improvements, and lab and equipment setup. Fast paced work environment and required to be multi-tasking.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EDUCATION We are looking for a candidate with bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering. Will consider Engineering Intern/Co-op with2 years college.
Prefers good experience in OEM automotive field, specifically in electronics and possess vehicle infotainment knowledge.
Prefers experience with JIRA, audio systems, BT, connectivity, navigation, product evaluation/testing, and hands on knowledge of electrical dubbing tools such as oscilloscope, voltmeters, etc.
Must has clean driving record and able to drive safely for testing.
Candidate must also be able to periodically travel for a period of time 2weeks domestically and internationally.
The candidate must possess ability of schematic/spec reading, hardware troubleshooting, tests, and measurements.
Must be highly organized, meticulous, and methodical. Most importantly, the candidate must have strong problem-solving skill / time management skill/risk-management type of thinking.
Must be self-directed learner.
Proficient with MS software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Must be willing to work with cross-cultural teams.
