Job Description Your responsibilities The Business Computing (FAP-BC) group, within the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), is responsible for developing and maintaining a wide range of support applications essential for the operations of the organization.We are currently seeking a UX/UI Designer to contribute to enhancing the usability of our diverse portfolio of applications.Responsibilities:Design wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces for web-based and mobile applications;Implement user-centered design principles to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces;Develop and maintain UI design patterns and style guides to ensure consistency across applications;Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to iterate and improve designs;Work closely with developers to implement designs and ensure design integrity throughout the development process.Your profileSkills and/or knowledgeExperience in UX/UI design of user interfaces for web and mobile applications;Experience using design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, etc.;Experience conducting user research, user testing and feedbackKnowledge of User-Centered Design Principles;Ability to create wireframes and interactive prototypes;Excellent communication and collaboration skills;Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.Eligibility criteria:You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Design, Graphic Design (or a related field) and have either:a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Additional InformationJob closing date: 09.06.2024 at 23:59h (midnight) CEST.Job reference: FAP-BC-DZN-2024-98-GRAPContract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.Target start date: 01-September-2024What we offerA monthly stipend ranging between 6212 and 6828 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract.30 days of paid leave per year.On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.About usAt CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe.
