Overview
Self-starter with excellent management, problem solving and communication skills. Must be able to effectively organize and help direct labor of Tooling and Fabrication shift operation with emphasis on safety, budgeting, team building and department training. Work effectively with engineering and all other departments to ensure that tooling builds and fabrication projects are timely which relate to the elimination of recurring tooling issues, continuous improvement, and quick changeover and set-up reductions.
Responsibilities Must be able to properly prioritize, direct and control skilled labor in the areas of tooling builds, equipment and tooling repair and maintenance repairs and safety training. Must have knowledge of computerized maintenance systems to effectively manage all aspects of the maintenance operation. i.e. MRO, work order system, and Preventive/Predictive Operation. Must have the ability to assist with the implementation and sustain the elimination of tooling issues. Must have the ability to work with the Corporate Tooling Group with improvements with Tooling. Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines as specified in codes. Comply with all plant EHS and personnel policies. Help meet budget requirements with manning and other department cost. Hands- on approach required at times in assisting subordinates at meeting deadlines. Must be able to identify opportunities that ultimately reduce maintenance cost. Comply with all Quality Systems requirements. Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Tooling and Fabrication Supervisor and Process Engineering Manager. Qualifications Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and assist in moving machinery/tooling to and from production floor safely. Must be able to work in high places, deep pits, and be able to work in any weather conditions to support fabrication projects. Must occasionally be able to work extended shifts or weekends. Various hand and power tools, welders, grinders, torch, mill, and lathes. Must possess required computer skills to perform job properly and effectively. Required computer skills relate to Microsoft office programs i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point, Other computer skills relate to maintenance management programs. Must have a strong understanding of Tooling requirements for the various sku types built. Must have a strong understanding of how the various machines impact how the Tooling functions. Must have exceptional organizational skill, must have multi-tasking skills, must be a team-oriented person with exceptional communication skills, and must be a self-starter.
