Taproom Manager Full Job Description - Locations: Lansdale, PA Admittedly, we are searching for a unicorn. The Brewery Taproom Manager's duties involve a variety of activities including, but not limited to planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, marketing, profitability, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, cleanliness, sanitation, consistency, and overall quality of our brand.
This role must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence with a genuine interest in helping our company succeed.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to: · Assist in scheduling and maintaining relationships with rotating food trucks each month.
· Accountability for managing and leading all retail aspects of the brewery taproom, and online store.
· Develop strategies designed to attract more customers, expand taproom traffic, reduce inefficiencies, and increase profitability.
· Assist ownership in developing, maintaining, and evolving the strategic direction of the taproom; effect positive change and improvements.
· Understanding the financial performance of retail operations by managing costs and understanding cost drivers.
· Manage beer inventory levels and manage ordering, delivery and organizing of all beer cans and kegs for taproom.
· Forecast supplies, merchandise, and other consumables necessary for the operation of the taproom and ensure costs are being controlled.
· Maintain all house processes, policies, and standard operating procedures.
· Oversee and administrate human resource objectives by proper recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; communicating job expectations, planning, maintaining, appraising, reviewing job contributions, enforcing policies and procedures; handling complaints.
· Instill a focus of excellence through the whole team and committed to providing the absolute best customer service possible.
· Maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations.
· Drive customer satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing beverage, and service offerings. Initiate improvements and build relationships with preferred customers.
· Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
· Work with the Marketing team to utilize social media to promote the taproom and its features, as well as events and new beer releases.
· Comply with and enforce all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, and safety, and personnel.
· Provide quality control systems and ensure best practices are implemented and are being followed.
· Ensure all equipment and property is kept clean and in good working condition through inspection and preventative maintenance practice.
· Set an example with a professional attitude and demeanor with a hands-on approach and style; uphold company values.
· Keep the taproom staff accountable, energized, and productive.
· Provide advice and suggestions to the owners as needed.
· Communicate routinely and effectively with team via 1:1 interaction
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 2-3 YEARS OF RESTAURANT, BAR OR BREWERY PREFERRED Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of communicating effectively and timely with customers, co-workers, employees, and ownership.
· Strong customer service, leadership, and management skills
· Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system and proficient in Microsoft Office suite
· Be available to work all taproom operating hours including nights and weekends
· Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer and the craft beer industry
· Must have Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certification (Level 1), or attain the certification quickly after joining the team
· Valid RAMP certification, or within 30 days of hire
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Variable work hours that include evenings and weekend work
· Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting of products and supplies weighing up to 65 lbs.
