Job Description Pay Rates Starting between: $85,000 / year
POSITION SUMMARY: The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of assigned fleet and equipment; daily dispatch, personnel, customer service, and compliance with health, safety, security and environmental regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise drivers: Lead team of drivers including performance, workload management, and recruiting, training, hiring and disciplining decisions. Manage overtime in alignment with Company objectives. Verify available hours of service with supporting employee schedules and confirm accuracy of time keeping and payroll documentation. Troubleshoot calls from drivers, serving as primary point of contact.
Safety: Manage and escalate Accident and product contaminations, spills, and other emergencies reported by drivers to appropriate operations leadership in compliance with SC Fuels environmental, health, safety and security guidelines. 
Dispatch: Schedule vehicles and drivers in a way that optimizes company resources. This will consist of deliveries, including assignment of drivers to trucks and trucks to routes, to maximize operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability in adherence with safety requirements. Manage schedule changes (due to driver absences, business changes, and/or vehicle maintenance) and adjust assignments/routes accordingly, communicating changes to appropriate operations/sales representatives. Provide dispatch support on assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays, managing emergencies and directing response efforts when needed. Review and analyze previous day's deliveries to ensure routes were adhered to and efficiency levels were met/exceeded and log and report emergency delivery details.
Fleet Maintenance and Authorizations : Coordinate vehicle maintenance with mechanic team based on driver feedback and regular maintenance schedules to ensure fleet is maintained with federal, state and DOT regulations.  Maintain proper paperwork with loading racks to ensure that all vehicles have the ability to load product.
Communication: Maintain open dialogue with appropriate departments about delivery related issues. Serve as key point of contact for operational questions from other departments, outside carriers sales representatives, drivers, warehouse team, and operations leadership on all delivery related inquiries. Answer questions from customers as needed, referring them to customer service and other sources
of information. Develop knowledge of customer order history and locations and apply this knowledge to daily routing and management of emergency situations.
Safety Meetings: Contribute to, assist and attend driver and safety meetings.
Orders: Review orders entered by customer service team and clarify/correct as required; create recurring orders in dispatch system. Check Web-based monitors for tank levels and generate delivery tickets if needed. 
Work: Complete daily tasks in a timely and efficient manner and executes all reasonable work-related assignments as requested by supervisor.

Reliability: Consistently adheres to scheduled times for arrival, breaks, lunch, departure, and offline.  Can be counted on to be at workstation and ready to receive customer calls at scheduled times, communicates requests for personal vacation time to manager with appropriate notice according to established guidelines.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Industry-specific is preferred Some supervisory experience preferred Experience with hazardous materials, lubricants and dispatching is preferred Must have valid driver license and a good driving record Class A or B commercial driver license with HazMat and Tank endorsement preferred Must have working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations preferred Must have working knowledge of warehousing and transportation procedures and policies preferred Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task Forklift-certified preferred Must have working knowledge (advanced proficiency preferred) in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Must be able to collaboratively work in a team environment Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions Must be able to deal with stressful situations while keeping calm Formal supervisory responsibility 36413
